Personnel
The Levy County School Board wishes to thank you for your consideration of our county as you begin making employment decisions.
The philosophy of education of the Levy County School District is based upon the right of each child to have an equal opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. The primary responsibility of development rests with each school and parent of children attending. Each school shall also work in harmony with other agencies whose objectives complement the development of children.
We believe that a flexible program can best provide the opportunity for success and personal satisfaction, as needed by each individual, to achieve his or her place in our changing society. By precept and example, and in friendliness and cooperation among administrators, teachers, parents, and children, we shall seek to promote the concept of the worth and dignity of each individual. Further, we shall seek to instill the recognition of education as a right which carries responsibility.
Our ultimate goal is the development of each individual to the extent that he or she is able to achieve success and personal satisfaction, while making worthwhile contributions to the development and preservation of our democratic society.
We believe that this philosophy provides the framework for the formation of a statement of objectives. We commend you for choosing a career which benefits children and encourage you to select Levy County and assist us in this commitment.
All applicants for employment with the School Board of Levy County shall be recruited, selected, and assigned solely on the basis of experience, qualifications, and the necessary requirements for the vacant position. Race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, national background, and marital status will not be considered as factors in the recruitment, selection and assignment of such personnel, nor shall any qualified disabled person be excluded from consideration for employment solely on the basis of his/her disability.
