I wanted to extend a very warm and enthusiastic welcome. I am truly humbled and honored to have been elected to serve as your Superintendent. It is a privilege to join a community that is passionate about education and deeply committed to the success of every student, as evidenced by so many choosing to mentor, make donations, or give of their time. Your generous contributions help us extend the reach of our classrooms and show our students that they are surrounded by a community that believes in their future. This is just one of the many ways Levy is so special.

I remain dedicated to bringing a fresh perspective and strong commitment to leading our district with integrity, transparency, and renewed purpose. My priorities are clear: to be fiscally responsible, improve academic achievement, keep students and staff safe and thriving, and to collaborate with stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Over the past several months, we have been hard at work developing a new and improved Strategic Plan that will guide our vision and actionable work for excellence. This plan focuses on what matters most, and has influenced thoughtful district restructuring efforts to ensure our schools are operating safely and efficiently. Moving personnel, reducing district staff, and reassigning job duties has allowed me to strategically place the best talent in the most appropriate places for success. I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the progress we have made in this short time and look forward to continual improvement with students being at the center of every decision made.

I believe strongly in the power of partnership and have learned much throughout my short tenure. Input from board members, school administrators, teachers, support staff, parents and students has been invaluable in guiding my work and influencing my decisions. I appreciate open and honest conversations and pledge to be present on campuses, at school events, and available for conversations that might help to improve our shared goals and endeavors. Your support, feedback, and engagement are not only welcomed, but deeply valued.

To our students, I challenge you to work hard this year and explore new opportunities. Take an industry certification test, join a club, participate in a sport, or add an honors or Advanced Placement course to your schedule. Set goals and take action to become eligible for dual enrollment, make the top 10% of your class, earn a Bright Futures Scholarship, or learn a new skill that makes you more employable. Although new experiences can be scary and challenging at first, they will teach you valuable skills and life lessons.

To our parents, I urge you to get involved. Regardless if it's reading at home, ensuring your child is on time and ready each day, or actively participating in school events or parent-teacher conferences, your dedication to your child's education both at home and within the school community is invaluable. Whether your child is just beginning their educational journey or preparing for life after graduation, we are here to support them, and you, every step of the way. You are our most important allies in education and we welcome your help and thank you for trusting us with your child's education.

To our staff, thank you for your impressive dedication and tireless commitment in fostering academic improvement and student well-being. Together I trust we can help all our students develop greater pride not only in themselves, but in our school district and unique communities. You continue to help make our schools the best option for students in Levy County.

I look forward with excitement and positive expectation for all that lies ahead.

Bargaining Update 08/04/2025

August 4, 2025

Dear Staff,

We want to take a moment to share how the Levy County Education Association and the School Board of Levy County work together on employee compensation.

Every bargaining session includes representatives from both the district and the union, with one shared goal: to advocate for the best possible compensation for all employees. Both sides bring forward proposals, give feedback, and collaborate to reach agreements that support our staff and keep the district on solid financial ground.

We’ve consistently worked efficiently—often finalizing agreements ahead of state deadlines, with funds reaching employees before the holidays. While the state’s budget impacts what’s available, our joint efforts over the past five years have led to strong, competitive compensation packages, even through challenging times like the pandemic and recent hurricanes.  Together we will continue to weather all storms.

We remain committed to working together for the betterment of all staff.

Thank you for all you do,
Tammy Boyle, Superintendent & Chase Thompson, LCEA President
